SD Prints is the
creation of art and interiors lover, Sinead Doyle. Based just outside
Belfast, Sinead is passionate about art, design and brightening up the bare
walls in her home with colourful art prints.
As bit of fun during lockdown, Sinead tried her hand at a few budget
DIY art projects to help fill out some home gallery walls. The result
was the creation of a colourful 'Corona Mona' collage, giving the iconic Mona Lisa
a Coronavirus inspired makeover, complete with a repeating rainbow background and a face mask.
Following several requests for copies of the Corona Mona from friends, family and followers on Instagram, Sinead set about producing a batch of limited edition prints of the distinctive DIY artwork. A limited run of 50 numbered and signed Corona Mona prints are now available as a unique keepsake of this strange time in our lives.
A Project with a Purpose
£5 from the sale of every Corona Mona print will be donated to the Northern Ireland Hospice. The Mona Lisa print used as the basis of the original collage was purchased from a local NI Hospice charity shop in North Belfast, so we'd like to pay it forward to this wonderful charity, which provides end of life care to families right across Northern Ireland when they need it most.
A portion of the profits will also be re-invested back into the purchase of works by UK and Irish artists/creatives, supporting independent artists at a time when many have seen a significant reduction in income following the cancellation of exhibitions and events due to Covid-19.
